EMG was formed in 1971 by Mr John Legg to provide labour based contracting services to outdoor events. Since then the business has undergone considerable change and growth and is now operated by his son, Stephen, as Managing Director of the Events Management Group, supported by his sons Tom and Simon.
The company operates from 14,000 sq. feet of offices and storage at Moulton Park in Northampton. A permanent staff of 20 people covers the main administrative and operational functions and a regular pool of 2000 part time employees, most of whom are based in either Derby, Northampton or Luton, provide the labour force for the company.
EMG has always been committed to providing a high standard of service through the use of trained, experienced and professional staff and therefore opened our own in-house recruitment agency, Events Staff in 1997 in Northampton. This operation expanded to include a further branch in Derby in 2004 and a third branch in Luton opened in 2007. Together they provide a dedicated recruitment and training department to ensure staff maintain an accepted standard for the positions they are recruited to perform. In conjunction with the University of Derby we now offer in-house NVQ Level 2 courses in Spectator Management and Hospitality and Catering. EMG's Security division - Events Security, is also focused on training and having obtained City and Guilds accreditation offers in house SIA training courses.
